Since 2002 EQA has reviewed 160 school districts representing 195 of the 351 cities and towns in the Commonwealth. These districts include urban, suburban, rural, regional, and vocational-technical districts. To date EQA has reviewed all of the state’s lowest performing districts, as well as all of the Commonwealth’s large cities. The EQA also conducts charter renewal inspections and examinations of underperforming schools and school districts on behalf of the Board of Education.
In the past four years, EQA has produced almost 20,000 pages of reporting to serve as tools to be used by school districts in their improvement efforts.
The technical reports are in-depth studies rating schools on all aspects of their performance. These are written with the school district administration in mind and combine data, ratings, supporting evidence, and examples of practice at the various levels in the district.
The general reports are summary reports prepared for members of the public. These are much shorter and show key findings by area, overall trends, and patterns in the district data. This type of report has been prepared for districts reviewed after 9/2005.
