Maryellen Donahue

Maryellen Donahue served as the director of the Office of Research, Assessment, & Evaluation for the Boston Public Schools for more than 20 years. Prior to that, she held a number of leadership positions throughout the Boston public school district, including Manager of Testing, Evaluation Specialist, and Reading Specialist. She also taught at the Benedict Fenwick, John Winthrop, and O. H. Perry Schools. Ms. Donahue is past President of the National Association of Test Directors and the Directors of Research and Evaluation and currently serves on the MCAS Technical Advisory Committee. She has a bachelor's in English from Maryville University, a master's in education from Boston State College, and has completed coursework requirements for a Ph.D. in research and evaluation from Boston College.

 

Joseph E. Esposito

Mr Esposito recently retired as Chief Financial Officer of SolidWorks Corporation in Concord, where he was responsible for all financial and legal activities, as well as several administrative functions. Previously, Joe was financial director of new business ventures at Polaroid Corporation and served as chief financial officer of Polaroid Medical Imaging Systems. In Bedford, Joe served on various town committees including the Bedford School Committee and building committees for the high school and an elementary school. He attended the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, served as a U.S. Army Captain in Vietnam. Mr. Esposito received a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Boston University and a master’s degree in business administration from Harvard Business School. In addition, he is a certified public accountant with both audit and tax experience from Peat, Marwick, Mitchell and Company (KPMG Peat Marwick LLP).

 

Alison L. Fraser

Currently an education policy and research consultant, Ms. Fraser was previously the Policy Director at Mass Insight Education, where she directed the work of the Great Schools Campaign, especially regarding its No Excuses for Failing Schools and Excellence in Math and Science goals. She also researched, wrote, and facilitated production of various publications, coordinated activities and contacts for the Coalition for Higher Standards, conducted Building Blocks research. After working as a journalist and in private school development, she spent several years as general manager of a family business. Following a life-long interest in education, she became certified as a classroom teacher, and taught third, sixth and eighth grade, before becoming a high school English teacher for several years in central Massachusetts. Ms. Fraser has also been an adjunct English Professor at a local college. She has a B.A. from Smith College and Ed.M. from Harvard University. She is a fellow of the Education Policy Fellowship Program for the Institute for Educational Leadership in Washington D.C., and is a member of the Massachusetts Special Education Advisory Council.
